About this book

I wrote this book with Chat GPT on a rainy, cool Saturday morning in central Switzerland.

It took me (us, including the AI) 90 minutes from concept to completion of the text.

Here is the prompt (feel free to use it): :

The writing style is straightforward, clear, and informative. The author uses a conversational tone, making it easy for readers to understand complex ideas. The author's tone is confident and passionate, reflecting their deep understanding and love for the topic.”

These are the notes I fed ChatGPT (free version, GPT3).

I started with asking ChatGPT to create an outline of an intro, 7 chapters and an conclusion. It created the outline. Then I used the outline and the prompt above to generate each chapter.

I copied the text of each chapter to Google Docs. After light editing (for example, it assumed I had a different degree than I have) in Google Docs I saved the file by exporting it in an ePub format. I then uploaded the book to Kindle Direct Publishing and used Canva.com to generate the book cover.

I then saved the file in Google Docs to Docx format and uploaded it to Play HT for narration. I chose an AI voice based on fit with the content to narrate the audiobook. It is free up to 5,000 words. Listening to the text it was clear that I needed to adjust a few things (ex. AI to A I with a space) to help with the narration.

Then I downloaded the audiofile in .WAV format and used iMovie on a Mac laptop to convert the file to .MP3 format. I then uploaded the audio file to my personal site on Squarespace.

To upload the book as an audiobook to Audible.com I’m using ACX (their self-publishing platform) I need to edit the audio file by adding sounds and text at the beginning and end as well as breaking down each chapter into a separate file. I’m doing this using iMovie on Mac and exporting .MP3 files for final editing to meet Audible specifications in Audacity.
